Job Description – Lifting Supervisor

Position: Lifting Supervisor
Location: Ras Laffan Industrial City (RLIC), Qatar
Contract Duration: 6 Months Extendable
Working Hours: Minimum 10 hours/day, 6 days/week

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and competent Lifting Supervisor to oversee and manage all lifting operations at the project site. The successful candidate will ensure that all lifting activities are performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company procedures, industry standards, and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate all lifting and rigging activities on site.
  • Ensure lifting operations are conducted in accordance with approved lifting plans and risk assessments.
  • Prepare, review, and verify lifting plan documentation and associated permits.
  • Monitor the performance of crane operators, riggers, and lifting personnel.
  • Conduct toolbox talks and ensure all personnel follow safety procedures and site regulations.
  • Inspect lifting equipment and ensure all certifications are valid and up to date.
  • Schedule and control lifting activities to meet project requirements.
  • Report incidents, unsafe conditions, and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain proper records and documentation related to lifting operations.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Minimum age: 30 years.
  • Minimum education: Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC), HNC, or equivalent qualification.
  • Must be physically fit to perform Lifting Supervisor duties.
  • Minimum 5 years of rigging experience, including at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong administrative, planning, and supervisory skills.
  • Proven experience in preparing and reviewing lifting plans and related documentation.
  • Must possess a valid Lifting Supervisor Certificate of Competence issued by an approved TPCA or an internationally recognized body acceptable to Qatargas.
  • Must have attended:
    • Minimum 5 days of training for fresh candidates, or
    • Minimum 3 days for refreshers.

Preferred Skills

  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • Strong knowledge of lifting operations, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Ability to work under pressure and coordinate multiple lifting activities simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with oil & gas and industrial project environments is preferred.
