QC Inspector Offshore Shutdown (Piping/Welding/NDT)

The QC Inspector ensures all mechanical, piping, and welding activities comply with project specifications, codes, and safety standards during offshore shutdowns.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Quality Assurance & Compliance:
o Inspect piping installations, welding, valve fitting, and structural repairs per ASME B31.3, API 570, and client standards (QP/Qatargas/Shell).
o Verify material certifications (MTCs), WPS/PQR, and NDT reports (RT/UT/MPI/PT).
o Monitor bolt torqueing, flange alignment, and gasket installation.
2. Welding & NDT Oversight:
o Witness welding processes (SMAW, GTAW, FCAW) and ensure compliance with WPS (Welding Procedure Specifications).
o Review NDT (Radiography, Ultrasonic, Dye Penetrant) results and approve/reject welds.
3. Documentation & Reporting:
o Maintain inspection test reports (ITRs), punch lists, and non-conformance reports (NCRs).
o Use SAP or ICAP systems for QA/QC documentation.
4. HSE & Shutdown Coordination:
o Ensure PTW (Permit to Work), LOTO, and confined space safety protocols are followed.
o Coordinate with construction supervisors, engineers, and third-party inspectors.

· Certifications (Mandatory):
o CSWIP 3.1/3.2 (Welding Inspection), AWS CWI, or ASNT Level II (RT/UT/MPI/PT).
o BGAS/NACE (for coating inspection if applicable).
o BOSIET/HUET (Offshore Safety Certification).
· Experience:
o 5+ years in oil & gas QC inspection, with 3+ years offshore shutdown experience.
o Familiarity with QatarEnergy (QP), Shell, or TotalEnergies standards.
· Skills:
o Proficient in reading P&IDs, isometrics, and ITPs (Inspection Test Plans).
o Knowledge of SAP, AutoCAD, and MS Office.
