Procurement Engineer
Job Description:
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable suppliers and subcontractors.
- Review and analyze technical specifications, drawings, and project requirements to determine procurement needs.
- Prepare and issue Requests for Quotation (RFQs), purchase orders, and tender documents.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and contractual conditions with suppliers.
- Ensure purchased materials and equipment comply with quality standards and technical specifications.
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues related to quality, delivery, or cost.
- Maintain updated records of suppliers, contracts, and procurement documentation.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and finance teams to align procurement with project timelines and budgets.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
- Conduct market research to identify cost-saving opportunities and industry trends.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related field).
- Proven experience as a Procurement Engineer or in a similar procurement/purchasing role.
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes, supply chain management, and contract negotiation.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and procurement software.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and vendor management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Preferred Experience
- Knowledge of international sourcing and import/export regulations.
- Certification in Supply Chain/Procurement (e.g., CIPS, CPSM) is a plus.
