We are currently supporting our client in the search for an experienced Soft Services Engineer to join their team.
Job Purpose Summary:
The Soft Services Engineer is responsible for managing and supervising all soft services activities including cleaning, waste management, landscaping, and pest control. The role ensures high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and aesthetics while maintaining compliance with environmental, safety, and regulatory requirements. The position oversees service provider performance, enforces SLA and KPI requirements, and ensures alignment with operational needs, CAFM systems, and procurement plans to enhance tenant experience and service quality.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Performance Management & SLA Monitoring
- Monitor and enforce compliance with SLA and KPI requirements for all soft services contracts.
- Identify service gaps and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Provide regular performance reports and recommendations for service improvement.
- Provide input for budget preparation related to soft services activities and support cost optimization initiatives.
- Cleaning & Housekeeping Operations:
- Supervise daily execution of cleaning, housekeeping, and janitorial services across common areas, lobbies, and offices.
- Ensure high standards of cleanliness and hygiene are maintained across all facilities.
- Monitor and evaluate contractor performance against defined KPIs, SLAs, and service quality standards
- Address service gaps and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure all soft services activities are tracked and monitored through CAFM systems where applicable.
- Ensure readiness of facilities for daily operations and tenant use.
- Waste Management & Environmental Practices:
- Manage waste collection, disposal, and recycling programs.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and sustainability practices.
- Ensure compliance with local authority regulations and environmental standards related to waste management.
- Coordinate with service providers for timely waste removal.
- Monitor waste segregation and recycling initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to improve environmental performance and reduce waste.
- Landscaping, Irrigation & Pest Control:
- Oversee landscaping and irrigation contractors to maintain green spaces and outdoor areas.
- Ensure proper maintenance of plants, lawns, and irrigation systems.
- Manage the pest control program, including scheduled treatments and reactive services.
- Ensure pest control activities are carried out safely and effectively.
- Maintain aesthetic standards across all outdoor and landscaped areas.
- Quality Assurance & Service Audits:
- Conduct regular quality inspections and service audits for all soft services activities.
- Validate contractor deliverables and ensure all services are performed in accordance with approved scope of work and contractual requirements.
- Maintain proper documentation and reporting of inspections, audits, and performance evaluations.
- Ensure contractors meet agreed service levels and hospitality standards.
- Monitor service performance using defined KPIs and quality benchmarks.
- Maintain records of inspections, audits, and performance evaluations.
- Recommend improvements to enhance service quality and efficiency.
- Safety, Compliance & Operational Coordination:
- Coordinate with HSEQ Lead to ensure safe handling and storage of cleaning chemicals and pesticides in accordance with SDS requirements.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Develop and manage deep cleaning programs for vacant units to ensure readiness for new tenants.
- Coordinate with the MEP and FM teams to align maintenance and cleaning activities.
- Ensure all soft services activities support operational efficiency and tenant satisfaction.
- Procurement & Contract Support:
- Support preparation of technical specifications, scope of work, and tender documents for soft services contracts.
- Participate in evaluation of contractor submissions (technical and performance aspects).
- Provide input for procurement planning based on service requirements and operational priorities

Skills:
- Technical / Functional Skills:
- Soft services management (cleaning, waste, landscaping, pest control).
- Service quality monitoring and contractor management.
- Knowledge of environmental and hygiene standards.
- Familiarity with SDS and safe chemical handling.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Environmental Science, Hospitality Management, Engineering or related field, or equivalent.
Certificates:
Preferred Certifications:
- Facility Management Certification (FMP or equivalent)
- Environmental or sustainability certification
- Health & Safety certification (NEBOSH or equivalent)
Computer Literacy:
- Computer literate.
- Proficiency in MS Office and facility management systems.
Languages:
- English fluent.
- Arabic is preferred.
Experience:
- 5–8 years of experience in facility management or soft services operations.
- Experience managing cleaning, landscaping, waste management, and pest control services is preferred.
