Electrical Technician
Job Description:
The Electrical Technician is responsible for performing electrical installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair work on electrical systems, equipment, and components. The role requires hands-on technical skills, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to work effectively under project or shutdown schedules.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical systems, including motors, transformers, switchgear, MCC panels, and lighting systems.

Carry out cable glanding, termination, and continuity testing as per international and project standards.

Diagnose and repair faults in electrical circuits, control panels, and instrumentation systems.

Assist in the installation and commissioning of electrical equipment and systems.

Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.

Ensure compliance with safety procedures, lockout/tagout systems, and permit-to-work requirements.

Maintain records of electrical maintenance activities, inspections, and test results.

Support shutdown or project teams in executing time-bound electrical tasks efficiently.

Report unsafe conditions, equipment faults, or potential hazards to supervisors immediately.

Coordinate with other disciplines (mechanical, instrumentation, HSE) to ensure smooth site operations.
Qualifications & Requirements:

Diploma or Technical Certificate in Electrical Engineering or related field.

Minimum 3-5 years of experience in electrical maintenance, installation, or shutdown projects.

Sound knowledge of industrial electrical systems, controls, and troubleshooting.

Ability to work on LV and MV systems safely and efficiently.

Familiarity with electrical testing tools such as megger, multimeter, and continuity tester.

Understanding of HSE standards and permit-to-work systems (PTW).

Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-discipline team.
