Fabrication Technician
Job Description:
- Position Title: Fabrication Technician

Key Responsibilities
Welding & Iron Works
- Interpret shop and fabrication drawings to fabricate steel members and assemble structures.
- Perform all welding and metal fabrication maintenance requirements for the facility.
- Operate manual and automated welding units, maintaining proper arc length and movement speed.
- Execute welding in both flat and vertical planes (all-position welding).
- Examine welds for bead size and specifications, repairing improperly welded pieces or filling holes as needed.
- Use disc grinders to smooth parts and clean weld joints.
Equipment & Assembly
- Utilize power tools and steel cutting tools to shape and size metal elements.
- Assemble component parts using hand tools and apply proper fastening and torqueing techniques.
- Manage lifting devices and machinery for loading, unloading, shifting, and assembly.
- Contribute to the selection of machinery assets and power tools to improve work efficiency.
Safety & Maintenance
- Conduct periodic inspection reports of steel structures as instructed.
- Ensure daily cleanup of the work area.
- Comply with all safety requirements and regulations.
- Assist with special projects and organizational goals as needed.
Job Specifications
- Education: High School graduate with previous experience in a similar field.
- Industry Experience: 3–4 years in a similar field of work.
- Technical Skills: * Excellent knowledge of welding, metal works, and workplace safety.
- Proficiency in safe lifting and handling procedures.
- Technical knowledge of iron works equipment.
- Communication & Languages: * Proficiency in the English language.
- Good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Performance Indicators
- Percentage completion of work orders and requests.
- Level of compliance with safety requirements and regulations.
