Position Title: Diesel Mechanic
Location: Mesaieed, Qatar
Contract Duration: 01 Month (Extendable)
Working Hours: 08 Hours per Day
Working Days: 05 Days per Week

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic (Automobile Technician) to perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and overhaul of diesel-powered vehicles, heavy equipment, cranes, generators, compressors, and associated mechanical and hydraulic systems. The successful candidate will ensure all maintenance activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and in compliance with client and HSE requirements.

Educational Qualifications

  • Completion of Secondary School Education from a recognized institution.
  • Two (2) years Diploma or Technical Certificate in Automobile/Diesel Mechanics from a recognized Industrial Training Institute or equivalent.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Valid Qatar Light Vehicle Driving License preferred.
  • Permit to Work (PTW) certification/training preferred.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in maintenance and repair of industrial vehicles and equipment, preferably within the Oil & Gas sector.
  • Strong experience in troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of:
    • Heavy vehicles and commercial trucks.
    • Mobile cranes and lifting equipment.
    • Forklifts and material handling equipment.
    • Diesel generators and air compressors.
    • Hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
  • Experience using computerized diagnostic and fault-finding equipment.
  • Familiarity with European vehicle and equipment brands such as Scania, MAN, Mercedes-Benz, Grove, Terex, Caterpillar, Atlas Copco, Kaeser, Sullair, and similar equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance on diesel engines, vehicles, and heavy equipment.
  • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical faults using appropriate diagnostic tools.
  • Carry out repairs, overhauls, component replacements, and engine rebuilds as required.
  • Maintain and repair cranes, trucks, forklifts, generators, compressors, and associated equipment.
  • Conduct inspections and identify equipment defects before failure occurs.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and maintenance plans.
  • Test equipment after repairs to ensure operational reliability and safety.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection reports, and job completion documentation.
  • Ensure proper use and care of tools, equipment, and workshop facilities.
  • Assist other technicians and maintenance personnel when required.
  • Coordinate with supervisors and client representatives regarding maintenance activities and equipment status.
  • Keep the work area clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.

Skills & Competencies

  • Sound knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, and vehicle systems.
  • Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and maintenance documentation.

Preferred Industry Experience: Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Industrial Maintenance, Heavy Equipment, and Fleet Maintenance Operations.
