Position: QC Inspector (Civil) – QatarEnergy Approved

Location: Ras Laffan, Qatar
Project Duration: 03 Months (Extendable)
Joining: Immediate

Job Purpose

To perform quality control inspections on civil construction activities, ensuring all works comply with QatarEnergy requirements, project specifications, approved drawings, applicable international codes, and quality management standards. The QC Inspector shall verify construction quality throughout all project phases and ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct inspection and surveillance of civil construction activities in accordance with the approved Inspection and Test Plan (ITP).
  • Verify that all civil works comply with project specifications, approved drawings, QatarEnergy requirements, and relevant international standards.
  • Perform inspections for excavation, soil preparation, foundations, concrete works, reinforcement installation, structural steel, masonry, architectural finishes, roofing, and asphalt works.
  • Review construction activities to ensure compliance with applicable building codes, including the International Building Code (IBC) or equivalent standards.
  • Inspect reinforcement placement, formwork, concrete pouring, curing, and finishing activities.
  • Monitor foundation construction, soil compaction, and earthworks to ensure compliance with approved procedures.
  • Verify material approvals, inspection reports, mill certificates, and quality documentation.
  • Raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) where required and monitor corrective and preventive actions until closure.
  • Coordinate with construction, engineering, and QA/QC teams to resolve quality-related issues.
  • Witness site tests and inspections as required by project specifications and quality plans.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records, reports, and quality documentation.
  • Ensure implementation of ISO 9001 Quality Management System requirements throughout construction activities.
  • Participate in client inspections, audits, and quality meetings.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Diploma in Civil Engineering (minimum requirement).

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of inspection experience, including at least 2 years of relevant Oil & Gas industry experience.
  • Previous experience on QatarEnergy projects with a valid QatarEnergy approval as a QC Inspector (Civil) is mandatory.
  • Proven experience in:
    • Soil mechanics and foundation works
    • Reinforcement (rebar) installation
    • Structural steel works
    • Concrete construction
    • Masonry works
    • Architectural finishes and building interiors
    • Roofing systems
    • Asphalt and pavement works

Technical Knowledge & Skills

  • Sound knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems and implementation.
  • Thorough understanding of applicable civil construction codes, standards, and project specifications.
  • Strong knowledge of International Building Code (IBC) or equivalent building standards.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and verify engineering drawings, technical specifications, and inspection requirements.
  • Experience in preparing inspection reports, punch lists, and quality documentation.
  • Familiarity with Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements, and Quality Control Procedures.
  • Strong communication, coordination, and reporting skills.
