Job Description:

Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified and proactive Safety Officer (HSE Officer) to ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations on the project site. The Safety Officer will monitor site activities, conduct inspections, implement safety programs, and promote a culture of safety among all personnel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and enforce HSE compliance on site according to company and client standards.

  • Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards.

  • Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions, and prepare detailed reports with recommendations.

  • Develop, implement, and promote safety policies, procedures, and programs.

  • Conduct safety inductions, toolbox talks, and training sessions for employees and subcontractors.

  • Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe working practices.

  • Maintain accurate HSE records, incident logs, and safety reports.

  • Coordinate with management, supervisors, and site personnel to address safety concerns.

  • Assist in the preparation of emergency response plans and ensure readiness in case of incidents.

  • Stay updated with local regulations, international HSE standards, and best practices.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelors degree or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or related field.

  • Minimum 35 years of experience as a Safety Officer / HSE Officer in construction, oil & gas, or industrial projects.

  • Certified in NEBOSH, OSHA, or equivalent HSE certifications.

  • Strong knowledge of Qatar HSE regulations and international safety standards.

  • Experience in conducting risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations.

  • Excellent reporting, communication, and organizational skills.
