Job Purpose:

The Pharmacy Systems Manager & Rollout Lead is responsible for managing, implementing, and supporting pharmacy management systems across multiple pharmacy locations. The role involves leading system rollouts, coordinating with operational and technical teams, ensuring smooth implementation of pharmacy software solutions, and providing ongoing system optimization and user support.

The candidate will act as the key liaison between pharmacy operations, vendors, IT teams, and management to ensure efficient and compliant pharmacy system operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Pharmacy Systems Management

  • Manage and maintain pharmacy management systems and related healthcare applications.
  • Ensure system availability, performance, security, and data integrity.
  • Coordinate software upgrades, patches, integrations, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Monitor system performance and resolve operational issues promptly.
  • Maintain system documentation, user manuals, and SOPs.

Rollout & Implementation

  • Lead end-to-end rollout of pharmacy systems across new and existing branches.
  • Prepare implementation schedules, deployment plans, and rollout timelines.
  • Coordinate with vendors, IT teams, and pharmacy staff during implementation phases.
  • Conduct system configuration, testing, validation, and go-live activities.
  • Ensure minimal disruption to pharmacy operations during system deployment.

User Training & Support

  • Provide training and onboarding support to pharmacy staff and end users.
  • Conduct refresher training sessions and system awareness programs.
  • Offer first-level functional support and coordinate escalation for technical issues.
  • Gather user feedback and recommend process improvements.

Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure pharmacy systems comply with healthcare regulations, data privacy, and operational standards.
  • Generate operational and management reports from pharmacy systems.
  • Support audit activities and maintain accurate system records.
  • Monitor inventory, prescription workflows, and transaction accuracy through system controls.

Project Coordination

  • Collaborate with cross-functional departments including IT, procurement, operations, and finance.
  • Track project milestones, risks, and implementation progress.
  • Prepare project status reports and communicate updates to management.
  • Support future digital transformation initiatives within pharmacy operations.

Requirements:

Educational Qualification

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy, Information Technology, Healthcare Informatics, Computer Science, or related field.

Experience

  • Minimum 5–8 years of experience in pharmacy systems, healthcare IT, or pharmacy operations.
  • Proven experience in pharmacy software implementation and multi-site system rollout projects.
  • Experience working in hospitals, retail pharmacy chains, or healthcare environments preferred.

Technical Skills

  • Knowledge of Pharmacy Management Systems (PMS), ERP systems, and healthcare software.
  • Familiarity with inventory management, prescription workflows, and healthcare compliance standards.
  • Strong understanding of system implementation lifecycle and user support.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications and reporting tools.

Soft Skills

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
  • Problem-solving and analytical thinking capability.
  • Ability to manage multiple rollout projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PMP, ITIL, or healthcare IT certifications preferred.
  • Experience with ERP integration and digital healthcare transformation projects.
  • Knowledge of Qatar healthcare/pharmacy regulations is an advantage.
