Electrical Technician
Job Description:
The Electrical Technician will be responsible for performing electrical maintenance, repair, and installation activities during the shutdown period of an oil & gas, petrochemical, or refinery facility. The role requires strong hands-on experience in troubleshooting, cable termination, motor and control panel maintenance, and working safely under shutdown schedules.
Key Responsibilities

Carry out electrical maintenance, installation, and repair activities on motors, switchgear, MCC panels, and lighting systems.

Perform cable glanding, termination, and continuity testing in accordance with project requirements.

Inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems and control circuits to ensure safe operation.

Assist in pre-commissioning and shutdown-related electrical tasks as directed by the supervisor or engineer.

Follow all HSE guidelines and participate in toolbox talks and permit-to-work systems.

Ensure safe isolation, tagging, and verification procedures are implemented before starting any work.

Support in testing electrical systems and documenting inspection results.

Report defects, unsafe conditions, and maintenance issues promptly to the immediate supervisor.
Qualifications & Experience

Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.

Minimum 10 years of experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, or refinery projects.

Prior shutdown experience in similar industrial environments is mandatory.

Strong understanding of electrical safety, isolation procedures, and permit-to-work systems.

Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and single-line diagrams.

Good communication skills in English.
